Fun with R!

Getting Started in R Programming Session at NIMR

In a move to strengthen their data analysis capabilities, NIMR took the initiative to request training in R programming, aiming to enhance their skills and drive progress for both their team and the wider organization. Responding to this proactive request, LMU stepped in to provide comprehensive guidance, helping NIMR embark on their journey with R.

At the first live session, members of LMU led a two-day session, offering practical lessons on the fundamentals of R, from setting up R Studio to basic syntax. The training session wasdesigned to give NIMR the initial basis needed to perform data analysis tasks. The sessions are being continued online once a week with great enthusiasm from both sides, to continue to build and deepen skills in R programming.

“We saw the eagerness of NIMR to increase their analytical capabilities, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to support their interests,” said one LMU team member, who contributed to the training initiative. “R is such a powerful tool for data science, and we’re excited to help others harness its full potential.”

This capacity-building effort is part of a broader strategy within the organization to foster a culture of continuous learning and development, ensuring teams across departments have the skills they need to thrive in an increasingly data-driven environment.
